Owen, William and Segar (I)
In 1869 William Owen commenced independent practice in Warrington taking the elder of his two architect sons, Segar Owen, (1874-1929) into partnership in 1896. Their partnership was based in Warrington but included a significant number of early commissions at Port Sunlight, on the Wirral for Lever Brothers of which firm William Owen was a director. William Owen died suddenly at Warrington in 1910, the practice being continued by Segar Owen under the same name. In 1912 Segar was joined by his younger brother, Geoffrey Owen, in partnership.
