The son of James and Anne Morris of Bolton, Wilmot Banks Morris was articled to the Bolton architect Henry Stead in 1868, and remained as his assistant until 1884. when he commenced independent practice in Bolton. He was elected LRIBA 20 July 1911: proposed by J Simpson, J Pilling, and J Ormrod.
