Brameld and Smith
Established about 1897 although John Thorley Smith is listed as an architect's clerk in the 1901 census. It continued under the same style after the suicide of Bernard W H Brameld in 1914 by J Thonley Smith alone until his own death in 1924. The practice was subsequently acquired by Fred Riley (qv) who worked both under his own name and that of the practice. Riley was responsible for a considerable number of public house rebuildings and alterations. Works after 1920 are listed under Fred Riley.
