Warehouse 23 High Street Manchester
FIRE IN A HIGH STREET WAREHOUSE - The top floor of a warehouse at 23 High Street, Manchester, was discovered to be on fire at half-past seven o’clock last night. When a strong force of the Fire Brigade, under Chief Superintendent Corlett, arrived flames were coming through the windows at the front of the building and also at the back of the premises in Mardsen Square. An entrance was forced into the building, and it was found that the floor of the top tier and the roof were on fire, and that the floor underneath had also been damaged. After two hours work the fire was extinguished. The premises affected are tenanted by Messrs L Eastwoood and Company, millinery manufacturers. [Manchester Guardian 24 October 1923 page 5]
