Liverpool, 5th September, 1881. GENTLEMEN, —We cannot understand your silence in respect to payment of balance of our account, and again request an early remittance. When architects win a public competition, they expect to see their own work carried out; in your case we are pained to find someone else appointed to fill our place, and especially so when we took ample means to convince you of our ability to conduct the work to a successful issue. Further silence on your part will cause us to take decisive steps to obtain payment for our work, which should have been made when the builders' contract was signed.—Yours faithfully, BROMILOW & CHEERS.
