In 1919 C B Pearson designed the Town Hall Garage for J C Hinton (an architect’s assistant with Austin & Paley before the Great War). The site at 14 Dalton Square had been a house built by John Kitchen, the builder. An extension to the garage was proposed in 1927. Converted to Walkabout (PH) by W S Hattrell and Partners 1999. Servicing took place on the upper floor with access by car lift. Inspection pit for servicing remains within ceiling void after alteration.
