The Urmston Palace Cinema opened in 1912. The Palace Cinema, as it was later known, had a proscenium 35 feet wide, a stage ten feet deep and two dressing rooms and accommodated 900. The Palace Cinema closed 1957‑64 and was converted into a warehouse. since demolished.
