The RIBA Drawings Collection has a plan and drawings for a stand designed by Lutyens for the Home Painters’ Exhibition held in Manchester in 1914. The stand was described as “a decorative loggia, with 2 fountains, 1 at either end, & 3 arches, behind which are 3 recessed niches & statues in the niches”. No details of the exhibition have been found, but it was presumably associated with the Home Decorating trade. [Richard Fletcher]
