Another house, but of much simpler kind, which was also in my plan of ramble, is that of Inglewood, Brinscombe, near Stroud. My readers, who remember a little house near Leamington, by Mr. Morley Horder, which I sketched and published some time since, will know how sympathetically this architect works to the feeling of quiet English domestic building. At Inglewood he has been allowed to produce formal surroundings in the way of garden, terrace and court, which are so needful to give a house a comfortable settling place in the landscape. He has been fortunate in choice of a beautiful site on a hill between Stroud and Brinscombe. The house is built of Old Hampton stone, with constructional timbers above filled with brick-nogging and rough cast, the roofs being covered with old Gloucester-  shire stone tiles. Mr. Horder has other similar works in progress in the locality. [British Architect 13 December 1895 page 418]
