Infirmary Toxteth Park Liverpool

On 9 July 1896 Toxteth Board of Guardians awarded the contract for the extension of Toxteth Infirmary and Workhouse to Kelly Bros. Approx cost £10,000. LM 10 July 1896.

In later legal action between the Board and the architects see LM  June 28-30, July 1, 3, 1899. It was alleged that the architects had "overloaded" the quantities, resulting in overpayments to Kelly Bros. The final legal judgement (1 July) awarded damages of £1,000 plus costs against the architect C. Ellison & Son.
