Co-operative Store, Dinting
DINTING - A new co-operative store has recently been completed at Dinting for the Glossop Dale New Industrial Co-operative Society, the plans having been prepared by Mr. A. Banks, architect, Oldham, and the work has been carried out by Mr. Haughton, builder, Godley, near Hyde. The building consists, on the ground floor, of grocer's shop, flour room, etc., and on the first floor, news and conversation room, lavatory, store room, and tea room. The front of the building is faced with Yorkshire parpoints relieved with ashlar dressings, the roof being slated with Welsh slates, capped with Ruabon ridge tiles. The interior woodwork is chiefly pitch-pine, and the building is heated throughout with hot water, on the low-pressure system. [Building News 4 February 1887 page 181]
