Christ Church, Heaton, Bolton

NEW CHURCH AT HEATON, NEAR BOLTON-LE-MOORS, - At Heaton, near Bolton-le-Moors last week Lord Stanley, M.P., laid the corner-stone of a new church which is being erected to replace an iron structure. The cost of the new structure, which is to be called Christ Church, and is in the Late Decorated style of architecture, will be about £4,000. Mr R. Knill Freeman is the architect. Shortly before his death, Freeman designed the organ chamber, screens and traceried canopy of ornamental screens in the west end of the church. Consecrated 11 July 1896
