Fred Richard Lees Edwards
Born April - June 1859 Manchester
Not to be confused with Frederick Ernest Pearce Edwards, City Architect of Bradford from 1900 and of Sheffield from 1908 to 1926
Fred R L Edwards, the son of John Charles and Sarah Teresa Edwards was born in Manchester in the period April-June of 1859. John Charles Edwards, ran a tobacconist’s shop in Piccadilly but had already died by the time of the 1871 census, the business being continued by Sarah, his widow. Edwards appears to have commenced practice about 1880. However, nothing is known of his architectural career after 1884, although he was elected Licentiate of the RIBA in 1912.
