Following the death of Richard Tattersall in 1844, Thomas Dickson took and William Hayward Brakspear into partnership mainly to complete the Moral and Industrial Schools at Swinton and other work for the Manchester Guardians. The partnership, carrying on the profession or business of Architects and Surveyors, at Manchester under the style or firm of Dickson and Brakspear, was dissolved by mutual consent on 31 December 1849.
