Winter Garden and Ballroom Werneth Park Oldham

The winter garden and ballroom just completed at Werneth Park, Oldham, for John Platt, Esq, MP, from the designs of Mr Peter B. Alley, architect, Manchester, were thrown open on Tuesday evening last to a large gathering of Mr Platt's friends, including the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone, MP, W. H. Gladstone, MP, the mayor of Manchester, Sir Elkanah Armitage, etc. [Building News 20 December 1867 page 891]

OLDHAM - The winter garden and ballroom just completed at Werneth Park, Oldham, for Mr. John Platt, from the designs of Mr. Peter B. Alley, architect, Manchester, were lately thrown open to a largo gathering of Mr. Platt’s friends, including the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone, M.P., Mr. IV. H.
