RESIDENCE IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT - The illustration of "Weston Manor House at Freshwater, Isle of Wight,” the residence of Dr. Ward, which we publish this week, is from a drawing exhibited at the Royal Academy last year. It is built of the local stone, with Bath-stone dressings. One of the principal features of the house, although not seen in the drawing, is a large ornate domestic chapel, with an apsidal end. Mr. Conder, of London, whose tender was considerably below those of local men, was the builder. The architects were Messrs. Goldie, Child, and Goldie, of Kensington Square.
