HULME - On Saturday week, the foundation stone of a new Wesleyan Methodist Chapel was laid in Boston‑street, Hulme, near Manchester. The building, which will be in the Italian style, ornamented with white bricks and stone dressings, will measure 63 ft. by 33 ft., and will consist of one room for religious services, and a number of school rooms. The architect is Mr R Scrivener, of Hanley, Staffordshire; and the builders are Messrs Metcalf and Waterson of Strangeways. [Building News 21 November 1862 p402]
