Wesleyan Church High Street Wincanton
PROPOSED NEW CHURCH IN WINCANTON. – A site for a worthier and more accessible structure has been secured High-street, Wincanton; and, what is more, the site, which cost £300, has already been paid for. The cost of the new church, which it is hoped to commence building in the course of a few months, is estimated at about £1,500, and the plans prepared by the architect, Mr. A. Brocklehurst, of Manchester, disclose a very pretty structure of stone, in Gothic architecture. The frontage, with three artistic turrets, will face the High-street, and there will be two class-rooms and a vestry at the rear. The interior will be suitably furnished, with a pulpit on one side, a railed chancel at the apse, and there will two aisles. When completed, it will provide seating accommodation for over 200 persons. [Western Gazette 9 May 1913 page 10]
