NEW WESLEYAN CHAPEL AT SWINTON – The memorial stones of a new Wesleyan Chapel were laid at Swinton on Saturday afternoon. . The new chapel replaces a place of worship in which the congregation has held services since 1843 and it is being erected on the site of the old building. It is estimated that the scheme will cost £5,030. The chapel will accommodate 874 persons. Messrs W W Waddington, Burnley, are the architects, and Messrs S Rawlinson and Son, Swinton, the builders.
