Opened on 4 September 1937 as a Congregational Chapel to replace the original chapel on Old Hall Road. The architect was Edward Adams and the builders G and W Smith Ltd of Ardwick. [Richard Fletcher]

GATLEY’S NEW CHURCH – The new Congregational Church at Gatley is to be opened on 4 September by Mr R Austin Pilkington, of St Helens. A consecration service is to be conducted by the Rev Dr D G Jones, who has just ended a noted ministry at Bournemouth. [Manchester Guardian 27 August 1937 page 11]
