The Golf Club was first opened at Todmorden Edge on 4th May 1895 by the Captain, F. W. Horsfall and moved to Rive Rocksin 1906. The 9-hole course at Rive Rocks, Cross Stones Road was designed by Jesse Horsfall, the farmhouse there, dated 1764, being converted into the club house.
