Assessor F H Oldham. King Street, Manchester
BUXTON - At the last meeting of the urban district council, the report of the assessor Mr F H Oldham FRIBA of King Street Manchester upon the designs submitted for a Thermal Water Pump, forming the local memorial to Queen Victoria was read. Oldham considered Agate’s entry far better than those awarded second and third premiums and capable of being constructed for approximately £1,000, the sum named in the competition. The council accepted the results but agreed to merge the first premium in the commission. It was also decided to exhibit the entries in the free Library. [Building News 30 August 1901 Page 278]
