This bank has been designed for an increasing population. The banking hall is entered from a commodious entrance at the junction of High-street and Hope-street. A substantial angle turret, the upper part of which is half-timbered is the most prominent feature over the main entrance, the half-timber work being balanced by a pair of dormer gables on the front elevation. The main roof is hipped at each end and covered with tiles. The architects were Messrs Barker & Ellis of Manchester and the contractor was Mr John Stringer of Sandbach.
