CEREMONY OF LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF A NEW CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL. The interesting ceremony laying the first stone of a new Sunday School, connexion with the Collegiate Church took place Monday last! and although but very short notice had been given, a numerous concourse of spectators were drawn together the occasion. Tbe situation the new school is at the corner of Todd-street and Long Miligate, long known as "Dangerous Corner," where recently stood the Griffin public-house. The land been purchased for the purpose by means of a subscription and has cost, we understand, about £600. The School is to be a plain and substantial brick building, from a design by Mr. Richard Lane, architect: and Mr. Bellhouse is the contractor the work. It is intended to afford accommodation tor upwards of one thousand children, and its interior arrangements are very conveniently laid out. [Manchester Courier 19 September 1835 page 3]
