Alterations

The west door at the base of the tower and spire was removed and replaced by a window in an attempt to reduce draughts.

ST PAUL'S HIGHER BROUGHTON A new window, from designs by Mr Speakman, architect, has just been inserted in the tower of this church. It has three lights with beautiful tracery of the early perpendicular period and is a great ornament to the west end of the church. It has been filled with stained glass of rich design by Messrs Edmundson and Son of this city; who have been commissioned to supply a similar window for the north transept of the same church.
