ST MICHAEL'S WARD NEW LIBERAL CLUB — Arrangements are being made to open this new club in Easter week and. It is expected that Mr Jacob Bright, MP, Mr. Slagg, MP., and other members of Parliament will attend on the occasion.  ….  The work of altering the premises (345 Rochdale Road, formerly occupied the Domestic Mission) has been entrusted to Mr. J. M'Farlane, builder, of this city, and Mr A W Smith, 42, Market Street is the architect. The club when opened will form one of the best in the city, one of its great attractions being the gymnasium, 56 feet by 26 feet. Thera will also be accommodation for a library, a large billiard-room, correspondence and committee rooms, also a large assembly-room with ante-rooms for political and other meetings. The new club is situated in the centre of the ward, and will prove a valuable acquisition to the Liberal party. There is ample room for extension if necessary.
