St Mark's Primary School, Cheetham Hill

St Mark's Primary School was situated on the north side of Heath Street in Cheetham Hill and was associated with St Mark's Church, also now demolished. A box of correspondence from Waddington, Son and Dunkerley to the rector, the Rev James Swinburne Bateson, is held at Manchester Central Library, and goes into details about the building tenders. Permission to build the school was granted in June 1902. It closed in 1990 and was demolished some time afterwards. A modern house development now covers the site. [RF]
