The memorial stone of the St Joseph’s Catholic Day Schools, Richmond Grove, Longsight, was laid by Sir Henry Roscoe MP on Saturday afternoon, .... The new building will be two storeys high, will cover a space measuring 100 feet by 35 feet, and will be faced with Ruabon stocks. Accommodation for 500 will be provided. The total cost is estimated at £3,200 of which £1,000 has already been raised. The architects are Messrs Heathcote and Rawle, Princess Street, and the contractors Messrs Wilson and Toft, City Road, Manchester. [Manchester Guardian 19 October 1891 page 6]
