Miss Kerr had presented to her by the architect, Mr. Sykes, a gold key with which she performed the opening ceremony. The new church is the development of a mission begun in Collyhurst Road by the congregation of the Trinity Church, New Bridge Street, in 1882. A new and larger hall taken in Lilly Street. in 1892, and entirely new hall was built in Moston Lane in 1902. This latter building is now to be used for a Sunday school. The new church is in modern Gothic style, and the cost is to be £2 500. The accommodation is for 350 and eventually for 500. The pulpit is one by Mr. R. Barbour, of Messrs. Barbour Brothers, to the Salford Presbyterian Church, and on its disuse there the deacons at St. George's secured it. It is of handsome design. [Manchester Guardian 12 April 1912 page 4]
