St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church School Extension
ST. ANDREW'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SCHOOL EXTENSION - The foundation stone for St. Andrew's Presbyterian New Schools in Bowker's Row were laid on Saturday afternoon. The extensions have been rendered necessary by an increasing number of scholars, the old school building being inadequate for the requirements. Tho new premises will include a schoolroom upon the ground floor. 47 feet by 34 feet, with a day room. Minister's vestry, seven classrooms, and a library. In the basement there will be a storeroom and apparatus room. The front and back of the building will be of pressed brick with Ruabon terra-cotta and Bolton stone dressings. The entire cost will be about £1000. Messrs Maxwell and Tuke, architects of Manchester, have prepared the designs for the new building. [Bolton Daily Chronicle - Monday 14 July 1890 page 3]
