Plans have been prepared by Messrs. Preston and Vaughan, architects, of Manchester, for the erection of the Hope Memorial Schools and Mission Church, in connection with the parish of Christ Church Heaton Norris. The structure will contain 200 sittings for mission church purposes, and school accommodation for a large number of children. [Building News 7 March 1884 page 388]

On Saturday afternoon the corner stone of schools in course of erection on Huntsman’s Brow Heaton Norris Stockport was laid with full Masonic honours by Mr George Mellor JP WDPGM of East Lancashire. The building will be uses and day and Sunday schools in connection with Christ Church, Heaton Norris and is being erected in memory of the late Mr William Hope, who for thirty years was organist at Christ Church and did much useful work in the district. The builder is Mr Thomas Shaw, Longsight, and the architects Messrs Preston and Vaughan, Stockport.
