SWINTON & PENDLEBURY EDUCATION AUTHORITY - In November last (1908) the above authority invited open competition by architects practising within 9 miles of Manchester to compete for a school to accommodate 500 girls, 500 boys and 250 infants. In response to this 30 architects sent in competitive plans and at the meeting on Tuesday week 26th ult, the design sent in by Mr Thomas A Bushell, architect, of 28 John Dalton Street, Manchester was approved and adopted and he has been instructed to prepare the necessary working drawings for the same to be carried out under his superintendence.
