Royalthorn Hotel Altrincham Road Sharston
NEW HOTEL FOR WYTHENSHAWE - The Royalthorne is to be erected by Messrs Wilson’s Brewery at Princess Parkway - Altrincham Road for which the magistrates have granted a licence. The design is by Messrs. G Westcott & Son. [Manchester City News Friday 12 February 1937, Page 4].
TUDOR HOTEL IN WYTHENSHAWE - The largest hotel to be built in Wythenshawe, the new “Royalthorn” at Sharston is nearing completion and will be open by the end of the year. The design has been carried out on Tudor lines by Messrs George Westcott and Son, and the work of erection is being done by Peter Hodkinson and Sons of Ardwick for the brewers, Wilson’s Brewery Limited of Newton Heath. Surrounding the building is a car park with accommodation for 200 cars and a feature of the grounds is a beer garden with shrubberies and lawns, a rustic bridge and a stream flowing at the bottom of the garden [Manchester City News 16 July 1938.
