Proposed Cinema, Whitby Road, Ellesmere Port
ELLESMERE PORT PROJECT - Land has been acquired by St. George's Cinemas Ltd., opposite the Queen's Cinema. Ellesmere Port, of which they are the proprietors. on which it is proposed to erect a kinema estimated to cost £35.000. The Queen's is one of the 14 kinemas controlled by Stanley Grimshaw. chairman of the North-Western branch C.E.A. It has not yet been decided whether or not to close the Queen's when the new theatre is completed. Gray, Evans and Crossley architects, of North John Street, Liverpool. are responsible for the plans of the new theatre, which will cover an area of 12,000 sq. ft.
