Primitive Methodist Chapel and School, Ellesmere Port

TO BUILDERS - Persons desirous of Tendering for the whole or any portion of the work requires in the ERECTION of a PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL and SCHOOL at Ellesmere Port may inspect the drawings and specifications and obtain any required information at the house of Mr W. Stockton, the Post Office, Ellesmere Port Monday 1from Wednesday 5 April to Friday 14 April 1871. Sealed tenders endorsed "Tender for Chapel and School" to be sent to the Rev George Kidd Queen Street, Chester, before six o'clock p.m. on Wednesday 19 April 1871. LAYING THE FOUNDATION ST0NE OF A NEW PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL For some time past the members of the above-named body in Ellesmere Port  have felt considerable inconvenience through the smallness and the unsuitableness of the room in which Divine worship has been for many years held ,
 and a short time ago the trustees determined to a new chapel  and schools in this rapidly increasing locality. On application being made to the Marquis of Westminster, who owns a large portion of the land un the neighbourhood, he at once granted a plot of land, in addition to a donation of £20.  The  chapel, when completed, will accommodate 350 adults. and the school adjoining will hold from 330 to 400 children. The building stand in an elevated position, and will be a an ornament to the town. [Chester Chronicle - Saturday 15 July 1871 page 6]
