LISTING TEXT - Railway Tunnel entrance arch: 1845 by G.W. Buck for the Manchester and Birmingham Railway. Ashlar buff sandstone. The centre of façade projects forward from the rubble revetment walls and has raking rusticated quoins. It contains a horseshoe shaped arch which has a cyma moulded rusticated surround and supports a modillion cornice and a solid parapet. The northern arch is simpler and in brick but the keystone has the date, and the company's initials.
