NURSES’ HOME, ASHTON-ON-MERSEY The nurses’ home Ashton-on-Mersey, near Manchester, which has been erected to the designs of Messrs Whitelegg and Whittaker of Manchester at a cost of about £1,000 was formally opened on Saturday last by Mrs Coningsby Disraeli. The building contains two wards each for two patients on the first floor and an accident wards on the ground floor. It is built in the half-timbered style with tiled roof and immediately adjoins St Mary’s Schools which were designed by the same architects. Mr John E Dean of Ashton-on-Mersey was the builder. The building contains two wards (each for two patients) on the first floor and an accident wards on the ground floor with accommodation for the nurses. It is built in the half-timbered style with tiled roof and immediately adjoins St Mary’s Schools which were designed by the same architects and opened a short time ago.
