The foundation stones of the Methodist New Connexion Zion Schools, Higher Blackley were laid on Saturday afternoon. The designs have been prepared by Mr J H Burton, architect, Ashton-under-Lyne. The cost of the building, exclusive of furniture, is £1,500. [Manchester Guardian 3 July 1888 page 7]
