Manchester Ship Canal Company Sports Pavilion Stretford

Address                Manchester Ship Canal Co Sports and Recreation Club Kendal Road, Stretford.

(Assumed on the basis that the Manchester Ship Canal Co War Memorial, now in the Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port, was previously held in the pavilion at Kendal Road. ) Site bounded by Kendal Road, Haig Road and the Bridgewater Canal. Opened as Recreation ground, bowling green and tennis courts after the First World War. Used as a training ground for Manchester City FC.  In 2000 a scheme was announced for 160 houses and a marina on the site, November 2000 the pavilion was seriously damaged in an arson attack and subsequently demolished.
