(Assumed on the basis that the Manchester Ship Canal Co War Memorial, now in the Boat Museum, Ellesmere Port, was previously held in the pavilion at Kendal Road. ) Site bounded by Kendal Road, Haig Road and the Bridgewater Canal. Opened as Recreation ground, bowling green and tennis courts after the First World War. Used as a training ground for Manchester City FC. In 2000 a scheme was announced for 160 houses and a marina on the site, November 2000 the pavilion was seriously damaged in an arson attack and subsequently demolished.
