A line to run from the North Western Railway near Settle, where the Clitheroe Junction Railway terminates in a north easterly direction through Hawes and Reeth and down the valley of the Swale to Richmond where it will meet the Richmond branch of the Great North of England Railway. A further line was to run from a point twelve miles north of Settle to join the North Western railway at or near Ingleton. Engineers : George Watson Buck and Barnard Dickinson junior
