The Majestic Hotel was the premier hotel of its day in the Isle of Man. Photographs clearly show the Baillie Scott designed house on the left with the flight of steps leading down to the garden. Once lawn, this became the site for the swimming pool leading to the name being changed to the Majestic Lido Hotel. The original house was extended in the 1920s and again in the 1930s.
Hawtree and Thomson of the Hotel Majestic, Onchan head, Douglas IoM propose reconstruction of the building into a Lido Hydro. Plans by A E Lancashire, architect and engineer, 4 Corporation Street, Preston. Estimated cost £200,000. [Builder 10 August 1934 Page 246]
