Built on a corner site next to India House. Packing warehouse and offices with elaborate tower at the junction of Whitworth Street and Princess Street. Brick and sienna coloured terra cotta above a base of Aberdeen Correnie granite as India House. Height 106 feet. Tower 150 feet. Built in two phases, Lancaster House is linked to India House by a slim and elegant gate arch with a graceful lamp suspended from the centre.  Premises for the Union Bank in a suite of rooms entered from the corner were incorporated into the design from the outset.
