La Scala Cinema and two Lock-up Shops, Gregory Street, Hollinwood, Oldham

Located in Hollinwood, Oldham, the La Scala Cinema, was opened with a Western Electric(WE) sound system. All seats were on a single sloping floor. The proscenium was 26 feet wide. By 1935 it had been taken over by the Ogden’s Theatres Circuit who remained the operators until its closure in 1957.
