The extension takes the form of a building in brick and terra cotta of unpretentious appearance and will comprise one large room and a range of four classrooms, capable of being thrown into one. The architects are Messrs Preston & Vaughan and the builders Messrs Wilson and Toft. The new department will accommodate 510 children, the estimated cost of the extension, including land, being £4,500. Altogether the school with the additional accommodation, will provide places for 1007 children. (Continues with reports of speeches etc). [Manchester Guardian 3 July 1893]
