BOARD SCHOOL EXTENSION AT HARPURHEY - The memorial stone of the infants department of the Burgess-street Board School was laid by Dr R C Smith on Saturday afternoon. .... The extension takes the form of a building in brick and terra cotta of unpretentious appearance and will comprise one large room and a range of four classrooms, capable of being thrown into one. The architects are Messrs Preston & Vaughan and the builders Messrs Wilson and Toft. The new department will accommodate 510 children, the estimated cost of the extension, including land, being £4,500.
