PRIZES FOR CORPORATION HOUSING PLANS - The prizes for competitive plans for the laying out of the site and the houses to be erected on the Coach Road, Whitehaven have been awarded by the adjudicators as follows; First - J. S. Stout, Whitehaven (30 guineas); Second - H. Lord, Deansgate, Manchester (20 guineas); Third - Unwin and Holland, Wigan (10 guineas). The adjudicators were Mr Swain architect, (Rowntree's Earswick Garden Suburb) and Mr E. E. Stiven (the borough surveyor). Nineteen sets of plans were sent in.
