Built by the Holly Mill Co Ltd., originally with 72,660 spindles. Extended 1892, 1895 and 1899. In 1905 two additional storeys were built on to the card room. Ceased production in 1957 and demolished.  Spindleage (1905) 143,664, Platts. Engine Pollitt & Wigzell 1400 hp.

Messrs J and S Smethurst of Oldham, have obtained the contract for the erection of the mill required by the Holly Spinning Company at Royton. Messrs Wild Collins and Wild are the architects. [The Textile Mercury 15 November 1890 page 343]

The steam engines of the Holly Mill Company, Royton, were christened "Lancashire" and "Yorkshire" on Wednesday afternoon. The engines are capable of turning 130 horse power and will drive at the rate of 75 revolutions per minute. The main driving wheel is 22 feet diameter, for 32 ropes. which travel at the rate of one mile per minute. and are 1 5/8 inches diameter. The mill is 22 windows long and 12 windows wide, and is a five roomed structure, with an additional carding shed and cellar four windows in length, and, when completed, will contain 74,000 spindles, with the necessary preparations for carding.
