THE FYLDE FARM SCHOOL. FOUNDATION STONE LAYING. - The foundation stone was laid on Saturday (16 July 1904) of the school which the Manchester and Salford Society for the Reformation of Juvenile Offenders will build near Poulton-le-Fylde to replace the old school at Blackley. The school will be built on a fine open piece of country, some 85 acres of land having been bought. There will accordingly be ample room for the boys to engage in healthy country work as well as the other occupations that were carried on in the old school. [Manchester Guardian 18 July 1904 page 9]

In addition to the farm there were tailoring, shoe-making and carpentry shops. Places for 130 boys.
