Fitting up Smoke Room,. Merchants’ Dining Room, Market Street

A fire at the Merchants Dining Rooms 92 Market Street had been limited to the smoke room only - claims that this limited damage was a result of the use of partitions by the Flameproof Plate Wall Company Limited, 3 MacDonald’s Lane, Corporation Street, Manchester. This would suggest that Heathcote may have been responsible for the original design as well as the reinstatement [British Architect 21 June 1901 Page 448]
