Extensions to Hyde Road Tram shed and Offices Hyde Road
HYDE ROAD DEPOT. OPENING OF A NEW EXTEXSION - Yesterday the Tramways Committee of the Manchester Corporation celebrated the completion of the Hyde Road car-shed extension and new stores, and opened the building. There is additional shed' accommodation for ninety cars and a three-storey building for the storage of large quantities of materials and equipment. The total area of the sheds and buildings covered by is now 10.5 acres. The amount of the contract for the extension and new stores was £46,059. The architect was Mr. Gibbons, who has also designed the other car-sheds. The total cost of land and buildings at Hyde Road up to now is £277,000. [Manchester Guardian 27 October 1915; Page 3]
