The school, for a total of 400 pupils was intended to serve some 700-800 houses built on agricultural land over the previous five years.

The principal feature of the building is the assembly hall, a well-lighted room furnished with glazed doors leading to the quadrangle. The cloakroom is of a new type to suit the semi open-air plan adopted. Two classrooms are served by one cloakroom so that children can have access from the classrooms to the cloakrooms before leaving the warm rooms and it is considered that this will be an advantage in cold and wet weather. The classrooms present a pleasing appearance, each having a dado three feet high tiled in various colours - green, pink and blue. The school has been erected from the designs and under the supervision of Mr Percy Howard.
